A FASCINATION WITH SKELETONS

During the lockdown, I explored studies of skeletons and began imagining a surreal universe: headless skeletons wielding maces—each mace bearing a face—battling doctors in space suits. The maces, reminiscent in shape to depictions of the virus, came to represent reckless individuals contributing to its spread. The concept was loosely inspired by the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, reimagined in a chaotic, symbolic clash between science and destruction.

The two artworks above are a depiction of the conflict happening inside the body between the vaccine and the disease.

These two illustrations expanded the universe further, by showing these skeletons harvesting lungs and also battling healthcare workers that had to sacrifice so much to keep us safe in the battle against covid. Loosely inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s set design from “2001: A Space Odyssey”.
